(From Act II, scene i : lines 193 &#8211; 194 of Julius Caesar)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brutus: \u201cPeace! count the clock.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Cassius: \u201cThe clock has stricken three.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The year was 44 AD, and there were no mechanical clocks at the time of Julius Caesar but were present in Shakespeare&#8217;s times that is, when the play was written.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Example 3:<\/b>\u00a0Another dialog from the same play is a prominent anachronism example.<\/p>\n<p>\u201che plucked me open his doublet and offered them his throat to cut\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A doublet is a garment that was worn during the time of Shakespeare, and not during the time of Julius Caesar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<h2>So we ask &#8230; ?<\/h2>\n<p>\u25a0 Is God merely an anachronism in 2014?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does God belong in our story now as he did in the Old Testament?<\/li>\n<li>Is the mighty hand of God \u201ca thing of the past\u201d?<\/li>\n<li>Does the Sovereign LORD of Ezra\u2019s time not fit our current perspective of God?<\/li>\n<li>Is this Sovereign LORD too old-fashioned, out-dated?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u25a0 Does God still stir the hearts and spirits of his people to do his work? \u25a0 Do I believe that?
