{"id":172,"date":"2008-01-30T18:40:26","date_gmt":"2008-01-30T23:40:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.livingbythewordsofgod.com\/?p=172"},"modified":"2008-01-30T18:40:26","modified_gmt":"2008-01-30T23:40:26","slug":"he-didnt-hear-their-prayers-he-heard-their-grumbling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dave.dlscott.info\/?p=172","title":{"rendered":"He didn&#8217;t hear their prayers; he heard their grumbling."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0There was one unmistakeable sound as the Israelites left Egypt and traveled through the wilderness toward the Promised Land:\u00a0 Grumbling.<\/p>\n<p>They grumbled about food, the type of food, water. . .<\/p>\n<p>Grumble, grumble grumble. . .<\/p>\n<p>And here in Exodus we see that God answered their grumbling.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0(Exodus 16:9 ESV)\u00a0 Then Moses said to Aaron, &#8220;Say to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, &#8216;Come near before the LORD, for he has heard your grumbling.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I thought as I read these verses this morning, how sad.\u00a0 Not, I have heard the prayers of my people, but I have heard their grumbling.\u00a0 He didn&#8217;t hear thanks or praise, just grumbling.<\/p>\n<p>Heaven heard their grumbling.\u00a0 Does that strike you as sad?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>(1 Kings 8:49 NKJV)\u00a0 &#8220;then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My words and thoughts rise to the heavens, God allows them in, gives audience and he hears grumbling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0There was one unmistakeable sound as the Israelites left Egypt and traveled through the wilderness toward the Promised Land:\u00a0 Grumbling.
