{"id":21,"date":"2007-04-25T19:31:52","date_gmt":"2007-04-26T00:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.livingbythewordsofgod.com\/?p=21"},"modified":"2007-04-25T19:31:52","modified_gmt":"2007-04-26T00:31:52","slug":"water-tests-what-i-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dave.dlscott.info\/?p=21","title":{"rendered":"Water tests what I do."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I like what water does in validating my work.\u00a0 I am an excavator, a digger.<\/p>\n<p>I dig and then <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">the next hard rain proves my work to be good or bad<\/span>.\u00a0 Since I want to do excellent work, I anxiously anticipate a hard rain after completion of a job.\u00a0 I have grown to appreciate this &#8220;ministry&#8221; of water, so I plan my job with the coming rain in mind.<\/p>\n<p>Some people dread the rain, but I look forward to it because <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">I want to know if I did it right!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You see, when you work with large areas of land, you want to determine the direction of the water.\u00a0 If you build a house, you want water to run away from the house not toward it.\u00a0 If you have a work area, you don&#8217;t want the water to accumulate where you are working.\u00a0 If you are building a road, you want it be a road, not a river.\u00a0 So your goal is to contour the land so the water flows in the proper direction.<\/p>\n<p>And water proves I did the right thing.\u00a0 Water is a reality test, a fluff detector.<\/p>\n<p>However, I could ignore the water test.\u00a0 I could determine in my own mind that I have done a great job; I could coerce others to agree with me.\u00a0 Or posssibly people would congratulate me on a fine job just to be nice or to flatter me.\u00a0 I could take pictures and write a paper describing the merits of my wonderful accomplishment.\u00a0 I could point toward my years of experience, college education and my status as a top operator to argue the merits of my work.<\/p>\n<p>But nothing provides validation like water.\u00a0 A hard rain&#8217;s gonna&#8217; come, baby, and I will find out if what I have done will stand the test or will be washed away in failure.<\/p>\n<p>(Matthew 7:23-27 NCV)\u00a0 Then I [Jesus] will tell them clearly, &#8216;Get away from me, you who do evil.
