{"id":2242,"date":"2015-02-05T16:53:54","date_gmt":"2015-02-05T22:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dave.dlscott.info\/?p=2242"},"modified":"2015-02-05T16:53:54","modified_gmt":"2015-02-05T22:53:54","slug":"study-sheets-for-sunday-february-8-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dave.dlscott.info\/?p=2242","title":{"rendered":"STUDY SHEETS for Sunday February 8, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dave.dlscott.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Story-God-typewriter-hands.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2243 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dave.dlscott.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Story-God-typewriter-hands.png?resize=322%2C344\" alt=\"Story God typewriter hands\" width=\"322\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dave.dlscott.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Story-God-typewriter-hands.png?w=322&amp;ssl=1 322w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dave.dlscott.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Story-God-typewriter-hands.png?resize=281%2C300&amp;ssl=1 281w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Hello to Everyone,<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> \u25b6\ufe0e<strong> Israel chose their story over the Story of God. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Missing God\u2019s Story was not new to the Jewish people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">At one time Elijah wondered if he was the only one left true to God (1 Kings 19:10, Romans 11:2-4).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The people of Israel (north and south kingdoms) were ravaged and sent off to foreign lands as captives as God\u2019s judgment on their rebellion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> \u25b6\ufe0e <strong>But \u2026 They tried to keep the parts of God\u2019s Story<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>that fit their story. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p2\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">They kept the teaching of Moses but not really \u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p2\">\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Moses \u2026 <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\">(John 5:46\u201347 ESV) For <\/span><span class=\"s3\"><b><i>if you believed Moses<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\">, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Moses \u2026 <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\">(John 7:19 ESV) Has not <\/span><span class=\"s3\"><b><i>Moses<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\"> given you the law? <\/span><span class=\"s3\"><b><i>Yet none of you keeps the law<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\">. Why do you seek to kill me?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u25b6\ufe0e<strong> And in the process \u2026 They lost God\u2019s Story. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">(Jeremiah 23:36 NCV) But you will never again say, \u2018The message of the LORD,\u2019 because <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>the only message you speak is your own words<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">. <\/span><span class=\"s3\">You have changed the words of our God, the living God, the LORD All-Powerful.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">(Jeremiah 23:36 NKJV) And the oracle of the LORD you shall mention no more. <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>For every man\u2019s word will be his oracle<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, <\/span><span class=\"s3\">for you have perverted the words of the living God,<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> the LORD of hosts, our God.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"> \u25b6\ufe0e <strong>How do we learn from their mistakes? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>receive<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> our \u201cinformation\u201d from God, and we <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>deliver<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> what we <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><i>receive<\/i><\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> from God. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b><i>No editing<\/i><\/b>.
