Yip, that’s what they had the children singing.\u00a0 Global warming and all.\u00a0 First heard this rendition on the radio this morning; they were speaking of the Chris Dodd presidential campaign.\u00a0 I remember several years ago, in our very first church, some of the music during the Superbowl halftime.\u00a0 Very strange, upside down account of Jesus’ confrontation with Satan in Matthew 4.<\/p>\n
Guess I wouldn’t want to make too much of this, but it does say something.\u00a0 If we aren’t trusting God, then it is in our hands.\u00a0 And even though in Christian circles, we would disagree outwardly, if you look at the mess in our churches, you would see that much of the time we believe things are “in our hands” not God’s.\u00a0 Don’t believe me?\u00a0 Just look at the revenge factor in the lives of Christians, getting back, not takin’ nothin’.\u00a0 We don’t trust God to give him his place to make everything right and mete out justice and fairness as he sees fit.<\/p>\n
No-siree, sister, “I don’t get mad; I get even.”<\/p>\n
The global warming thing is a puzzler.\u00a0 I haven’t done any research for almost four years, but then it was not near the slam dunk that we have it to be.\u00a0 And what raises my alarm is that you cannot even question the “fact” of global warming without evoking emotion and ridicule.\u00a0 That’s right, buddy, and the earth is flat also.\u00a0 Everybody knows that so what’s your problem.<\/p>\n
(Proverbs 14:12 NKJV)\u00a0 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
It really does seem right, this bent each of us have by default, but the end leads to further distance between us and God.\u00a0 We will believe anything and push for anything that promotes our agenda.\u00a0 What we want determines what we believe.\u00a0 It doesn’t matter how academic our posture; this principle holds true for all human “beans.”<\/p>\n
If something is this overwhelmingly true, global warming I refer to, then why not answer questions instead of quashing them?\u00a0 Isn’t this what they accuse us of as Christians?\u00a0 Oh, yes, we do the same thing when people have questions about God and his truth.\u00a0 Okay, so sometimes we are as stupid as they are; still doesn’t make it right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
