And why?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Psalm 4:2 (NAS)\u00a0 O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>How long will you &#8230;<\/strong><br \/>\nlove what is worthless &#8230;<br \/>\nand aim at deception?<\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t reading God&#8217;s word amazing?<\/p>\n<p>I mean, don&#8217;t all Christians know and drink in these amazing statements from God daily and allow their Sovereign Lord to fill them with wonder and the goodness of his Spirit?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe not.<\/p>\n<p>And we don&#8217;t because often we aim at the wrong things when we pick up God&#8217;s holy book the Bible.\u00a0 And we aim at the wrong things because we love the wrong things.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An example:\u00a0 I pick up my Bible to find something to make my life better &#8211; the life direction and calling I have chosen &#8211; as opposed to reading God&#8217;s holy book to come into his presence and letting him speak to me and set the course of my life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reading God&#8217;s words certainly has the potential to &#8220;make my life better.&#8221;\u00a0 But is that a life I choose or a life I discover as I follow my Lord and Savior?<\/p>\n<p>Can we understand and accept that the best path, the path God has for each of us, is beyond us?\u00a0 Beyond our purview?\u00a0 Beyond our sight, our range of vision?<\/p>\n<p>We cannot choose the path because we do not know the way. Left alone our vision for life is a mirage, vanity and lies.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psalm 4:2 (ESV)\u00a0 O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame?\u00a0 How long will you <strong>love vain words<\/strong> and <strong>seek after lies<\/strong>?   Selah<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How long &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Until we understand we have one hope, one Way, and we better stay close.<\/p>\n<p>So how do we love the good and aim at truth.\u00a0 Here is solid direction from a few thousand years ago.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know<\/li>\n<li>Tremble<\/li>\n<li>Meditate<\/li>\n<li>Offer<\/li>\n<li>Trust<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Psalm 4:2-5 (NASB)\u00a0 O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah. 3 But <strong>know<\/strong> that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him.\u00a0 4 <strong>Tremble<\/strong>, and do not sin; <strong>Meditate<\/strong> in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.\u00a0 5 <strong>Offer<\/strong> the sacrifices of righteousness, And <strong>trust<\/strong> in the LORD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Good stuff &#8211; rain from heaven shared from a follower of God who has preceded us on the path of God by thousands of years.<\/p>\n<p>Millenniums and yet the same&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It is the same.\u00a0 Same God.\u00a0 Same words.<\/p>\n<p>Same tugging and calling on our lives to come into the presence of God Almighty and drink in what is good and true.<\/p>\n<p>So ..<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know the treasure of your position before God.<\/li>\n<li>Bow low and tremble before the God who has brought you to this place.<\/li>\n<li>Be quiet before him.<\/li>\n<li>Offer your righteous service to him.<\/li>\n<li>Trust him<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And drink in the rain of heaven &#8230; from God to you.<\/p>\n<p>Blessing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Psalm 4:2 (NAS)\u00a0 O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach?
