{"id":585,"date":"2011-04-15T04:08:45","date_gmt":"2011-04-15T09:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.bottlerockettheology.com\/?p=585"},"modified":"2011-04-15T04:08:45","modified_gmt":"2011-04-15T09:08:45","slug":"one-thing-god-doesnt-promise-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dave.dlscott.info\/?p=585","title":{"rendered":"One thing God doesn&#8217;t promise to do &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>God doesn&#8217;t promise to fulfill our plans, doesn&#8217;t promise to work our plan, but his.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Romans 8:28 (GW) We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God\u2014those whom he has called according to his plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">I try not to over-do my criticism of the &#8220;life-lessons&#8221; that are sometimes taught on TV, not on a crusade, don&#8217;t watch that much TV.\u00a0 We accept it&#8217;s mostly stupid, right?<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">But last night something really bothered me.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">Not that this was new or worse than what is always on, but it seemed to say so blatantly &#8211; no God, live your life as you see fit, make the rules as you go.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">The one guy who was a cop had to steal to get money for his wife&#8217;s black-market kidney.\u00a0 As it was justified by the nephew, another cop, Auntie would have died if Uncle hadn&#8217;t done this.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">No God watching over.\u00a0 No honoring him with obedience in the events of our lives.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">God wasn&#8217;t there.\u00a0 That is what really bothers me.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">They weren&#8217;t railing against God.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">He just wasn&#8217;t there.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">No God working his good plan for those who love him.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>God doesn&#8217;t promise to fulfill our plans, doesn&#8217;t promise to work our plan, but his.
