(Isaiah 7.7a NIV) Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says \u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nAmazing how sometimes two or three words, or sometimes only one, God uses to clarify who he is and his desired involvement in my life.\u00a0 Even that statement captures me.\u00a0 God wants to be involved in my life.<\/p>\n
But away from the detour …<\/p>\n
Here I am speaking of one word that we might want to remember.<\/p>\n
Yet …<\/p>\n
Screaming, shouting, noise, business as usual, this political party says, that political party argues, this country rattles it’s saber, that country threatens retaliation …<\/p>\n
The signals we receive from our daily news deliver desperation and foreboding …<\/p>\n
Yet … God talks too.<\/p>\n
God speaks, through his Spirit, through his words.\u00a0 He has been repeating his message with deft accuracy and consistency for thousands of years.<\/p>\n
To a dark world he promises light.<\/p>\n
And to you and me.\u00a0 He speaks to us.<\/p>\n
It’s likely you are hearing all the other stuff, conservative, liberal, and every whack job in between.<\/p>\n
But are you listening when God speaks to your heart.<\/p>\n
All the stuff going on, “Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says \u2026”<\/p>\n
Words that last forever. That’s what we need to hear.<\/p>\n
God who is eternal and almighty.\u00a0 That’s who we need to listen to.<\/p>\n
Medicine to our souls; our Rock in the midst of turbulence, our salvation, our High Tower.<\/p>\n
