Jeshua stands up again. . .

Jeshua stands up again and this time his “posse” is with him.  Zerubbabel and the boys are also on line with the purpose of God.

(Ezra 5:2 ESV)  Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Like yesterday, Jeshua arose, he stood up when it was time for him to stand up.  AND the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.  The spiritual leaders “had their back.”  Musketeers. . .all for one, one for all, glory to God most high.

Sometimes (often?) we miss these opportunities because we forget who we are.  Their enemies in the land tried to intimidate them, asking for their names so they could tattle on them to Darius the king.  But they didn’t budge.

Why or how did they stand up to this tremendous pressure?

  1. They knew who they were, as they stated in Ezra 5.11:  “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth.”
  2. They were doing what God told them to do; they were honoring their calling.  “and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago.”

Maybe there is a couple thousand years in between their story and ours, but the issues are the same.  Will we stand up as the servants of the God of heaven and earth and bring him glory?

Will we stand up and embrace our calling?

Glory to you, O God!  Glory to you!
