Sorry, but I am still adjusting to being back to work, the heat and I haven’t really got my schedule down yet. Had another … whoops! where’d that weekend go. 🙂
I still hope to have something up within a few days.

I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
(Psalms 9:1-2 NKJV)
I will praise You, O LORD!
Lord, I am Your child. . .a pilgrim passing through this world looking for the city that You have promised.
As You know, Father, I do not live this life perfectly, but one thing I commit to You, I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart.
You have given birth to praise in my life through the Lamb that was slain. You have created praise in me. You have caused it to happen.
So, when I climb the peak of the sun-crested mountain,
I will praise You.
And when I descend into the dark valley,
I will praise You.
When I stand alone in the harsh desert,
I will praise You.
I will praise you whether or not I can see, hear,
smell, touch, laugh or hope.
I will praise You whether I feel loved and comforted
or hated and rejected.
I will praise You through the ridicule and roar of the evil one.
When the smoke has cleared and the fire has done its work, when the dust of this life has settled, I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart because You are worthy of praise.
A meditation of praise by dave scott. . .
This was David Crowder Band morning at work on my iPod; beautiful, powerful – Illuminate, Remedy, Church Music …
The benefits of checking out playlists on the iPod that I haven’t listened to for a while; Leeland is really good; surprised they aren’t better known
For a time I somewhat ignored gospel songs, southern gospel, etc. but although I think many churches “live” there, leaving them out is a big mistake; excellent thoughts; such as this song; what a blast … when we all get to heaven.
dave on keyboard, vocal; other instruments – drums, banjo are software instruments I play from a Keystation 49e synth controller
Sometimes our religion fails us miserably …
Sometimes the very people we condemn are the ones who could teach us what to do when God comes calling.
Trashy Women (Lyrics by Confederate Railroad)
Yeah, I like my women just a little on the trashy side
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed
Too much lipstick and too much rouge
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused
And I like my women just a little on the trashy side.
Just a slutty little thing …
In his eyes, she was just a slutty little thing, but in Jesus’ eyes she was a person who knew what to do in the presence of God.
The great irony …
The religious know-it-all condemned everyone else in the room, doubting Jesus’ credentials and judging the woman for her sinful life. He missed the worship service and let an opportunity slip past him to see first-hand the work of God.
AND he is the only one in the room who doesn’t know who he is.
He didn’t know nearly as much as either Jesus or the woman. The woman knew who she was – sinner – and who Jesus was – Savior, and Jesus did know what kind of woman came up to him. He knew she had lived a sinful life.
Sinner, Savior, click … This is why he came.
Duh, religious guy!
How God treats people like this woman …
And so he treated her as God treats people who come before him in repentance. He loved her and forgave her. He shared a moment with her in time and space, set in eternity, and written down and studied and talked about for centuries.
So, yes, Jesus knew what kind of woman she was, and he also knew what kind of man the Pharisee was which was more than the man himself knew.
Again … Duh, religious guy!
IRONY … The resident expert on things religious and spiritual did not know himself.
But the woman did. She had lived a sinful life, and she knew what to do about it.
What kind of a woman was she?
A slutty little thing that knew what to do in the presence of God, and she was light years ahead of the Pharisee in understanding the relationship between God and man.
A winning combination – A woman of faith and a God who forgives.
Yes, Jesus, certainly knew what kind of woman she was.
I returned to work today with not a lot, but some, apprehension.
And God took care of me. That’s my best articulation of my thoughts, my best expression of what God did for me today; took time from his busy schedule to ease me back into the day job.
What a God!
I couldn’t have asked for a better re-entry after having been off work for almost four months. I did a job that kept me busy, but I was able to work by myself, listen to music and podcasts, radio … I worked down by the water – “feeding a hopper” in gravel pit terms, a beautiful 300 plus acre lake stretching around me and a fairly new CAT 966H loader with AC, air-ride, etc.
I got the best night of rest last night that I have had in weeks. I asked God if he could do this for me.
He did.
Not because I am anything special, not particularly good, pretty much a nobody.
But like I said – God.
Mercy, grace, love, thoughtful care and consideration, mental and emotional toughness …
Giving, giving, giving …
God. When I am weak, then I am strong.
Thanks, God!
This was my first “cool” project with Pro Tools. As with the other variations of old hymns and gospel songs I do, it just came to me one day; best way I can explain it.
Make sure your volume is loud enough to hear the Wind … 🙂
Jesus Saves / Words by Priscilla Owens / Music by William Kirkpatrick
Arrangement and other cool stuff by Dave Scott
I am trying this again. I deleted the other post which had the first version of this song because I got self-conscious and thought people wouldn’t understand what I am doing.
This is like recording my own “jam session” and sharing among friends.
My style is different. One person who was part of our praise band for a short time spoke of how we “jazzed up” the songs. 🙂 My music is generally well-received so I thought I would develop my skills with my DAW so I could share more. I can do this legally with old hymns that I arrange and with songs I have written with no fear of copyright violations.
This is a challenge which I enjoy as I become the drummer, the bass player and whatever other instrument I pull from my music library.
For those of you who don’t know, I play mostly keyboards. The piano you hear is me; the other instruments I play are software instruments I play from a small keyboard which sits directly in front of my computer monitors. So I also “play” drums, bass, etc.
So without further explanation. Here it is “all jazzed up.” 🙂
