I am a servant … a slave actually

I am a servant … a slave actually.

And so are you. We are all slaves by default or by choice.

Choose – serve Christ, slave to righteousness, free …

By default (don’t choose, just let whatever) – serve ourselves, slave to sin, confined by our mortality and our sin …

(Romans 6.16) Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

(Romans 6.17) But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

(Romans 6.18) and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

But I kind of got myself off track. I didn’t really begin this to make a comparison or dive into a theology lesson.

I wanted to speak to the blessing of being a servant of the king of the universe and the very exciting and fulfilling adventure of discovering who we are and the greatness of said King.

All hail King Jesus. I gladly bow before your heavenly throne while still on this humbled planet.

Bowed before my God! Great joy!
