When I Lay My Burdens Down, An American Spiritual

More disclosure of the hick that I am, I guess.  I love all types of music; studied classical piano and classical guitar in college and love it. I love and play contemporary Christian music and old hymns of the faith. But country gospel is my roots.  No apologies.

When I Lay My Burdens Down, An American Spiritual

  • 1 Peter 5:6–7 (GW)
Be humbled by God’s power so that when the right time comes he will honor you.  7 Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.

More from my music archives. I added the harmony part this morning.  I can remember singing this with my friend Bob at Portage, Indiana.  When Bob sang and played the guitar, you were ready to kick your shoes off and go sit on the front porch and listen.

Hope you enjoy.

May God bless you on the path of Jesus.  May you be blessed with the faith to lay your burdens on God.  May I see you one day at our “home beyond the river.”

From the deep end of the love of Jesus,
Dave
