(2 Timothy 3:12 ESV) Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Everyone who desires to – wants to, wills to, determines to, whose will is to, is bent to – live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
As in a previous post I stated that this biblical perspective on persecution does not respect geographical, social or political boundaries.
Desire –> will be.
Make that connection. I believe it also gives us insight into the persecution by those with whom we are actually at war with which is the devil and the spiritual forces of evil.
(Ephesians 6:11 ESV) Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
(Ephesians 6:12 ESV) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
So I ask again – What does it say about your profession of faith if you are not experiencing persecution?
